“ Kiara was our wonderful bartender for the first oyster punk night! she absolutely killed it and made our experience really wonderful. they offered multiple oyster varieties and beverages that paired well for an excellent price. great punk playlist even though the place clearly isn't punk (which is okay!!) we will absolutely be back for the next last tuesday of the month! keep the oysters flowing baby ”
“ For fans of Big Star and Big Star Marisco's, you need to check this place out (again). They originally opened under "Marisco's" and then walked it back. Long story short, they're bringing "Marisco's" and the seafood back. It will be rolled out slowly but can tell you it's coming. Tonight we enjoyed the Pescado (whole branzino, perfectly cooked) along with ceviche, flauta's and machete quesabirria. Looking forward to the return of the shrimp entree, which is coming soon. If you're looking for a great meal, service and ambiance, this is the place to go!! ”
“ Big Star West Town is walking distance, super convenient and good quick food. The chicken nachos ($20) here are delicious and a HUGE portion! This was enough food for me and my husband to share. The service here is always quick! Added bonus - plenty of tvs if you want to catch a sports game ”
“ I love this place. The food is very consistent and I love everything there including the fish tacos, Brussels sprouts tostada and carve asada tacos. The wait staff were impeccable B and the ambiance is casual but v also a great spot for dates . I will definitely be back ”
“ Came for the Monday night smash burger special and it was a success. It might honestly be the best thing in Chicago you can get for $8. The best part about the burger was it was topped with a crispy layer of chihuahua cheese. The nacho fries were also good, but the burger was for sure the star. The fries were topped with queso, guac, pickled onion, and a few other ingredients. The weather was perfect out so we opted to bring the dogs and sit out on the small, cute patio. Before we sat down they already had bowls of water for the pups. The staff was attentive and personable we will definitely be back to try some other items on the menu. ”
“ The freshly made flour tortillas really set these tacos apart! My favorite was the carnitas but all were good. Service was attentive and our waiter brought us a pitcher of water so we were never thirsty. The patio is dog friendly and they even have doggy water bowls! It's a lovely patio spot and they will rearrange tables for your party and can accommodate larger groups. ”
“ Came here for a yummy Mexican dinner and this place had lots of variety to try and was a fun ambiance! If you are looking for tacos this is a great spot! We came with a group of 7 for and ended up ordering: * queso with chorizo - these was cheesy goodness and the saltiness of the meat complimented the dish perfectly. This also came with tortillas which was awesome! * queso with mushrooms - this felt lighter than the chorizo order but I really loved this also. The queso was on point and delicious! * Al pastor taco - this was a bit on the oily side but the meat was flavorful and well seasoned * crispy shrimp taco - this was very yummy and I loved how the shrimp was well fried and the batter was not too thick! I also tried my friends crispy fish taco which was yummy, and the salsas were delicious also! Overall an awesome experience with great service! ”
“ Big Star Mariscos did not disappoint! The ambiance is casual and they boast the same deep bourbon selection as their wicker park counterpart. I started with the barrel aged old Weller fashioned- which was superb. The Kale Salad had a great flavor and provided a much needed balance to all the other plates. The star of the night was the drunken shrimp- the waiter stated 'it's messy, but it's worth it!' And it was! ”
